Kim Fischer wants a Better Belconnen.
Kim and her husband Stephen have been regular faces in multiple Belconnen community organisations for 15 years. They are now active in the school board and P&C while raising three young children in the thriving Florey, Scullin and Page precinct.
Kim learned the mechanics of government while working for the Stanhope government, and her family recently took the plunge in setting up a small IT and communications business.
Kim is a freelance writer and has campaigned on many issues, including:
- Mandating a ‘local impacts’ assessment before the relocation of 4000 government jobs out of the Belconnen Town Centre
- Getting better planning governance arrangements prior to any redevelopment of the Ginninderra Field Station site between Belconnen and Gungahlin, and
- Securing $12,000 of improvements to improve safety on roads surrounding a local Scullin school
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, and obtained postgraduate qualifications in Business and Communications while pregnant.
