May Day is of central importance to the labour movement, and in the ACT has long been a celebration of working people. This year we will continue the tradition of awarding May Day Awards that recognise significant achievement among the activists and delegates of Canberra’s proud unions.
With unions and the broader labour movement, as well as the living standards we have won, under attack by the powers that be, it has never been a more important time to come together to show our unity and solidarity. May Day will be an opportunity to celebrate our successes and to demonstrate our resolve for the remainder of the year and into 2016.
This year, we will be holding our dinner at the Woden Tradies Club from 6:30pm on Friday 1 May.
To book your seat, visit the UnionsACT website. We look forward to celebrating May Day with you.
