Having lived been in Canberra for half his life, including the last twenty years in Downer, Richard has finally decided to take the plunge into politics to pursue his interests in collaborative planning approaches and innovation as a way to build an exciting and inclusive future for Canberra.
Richard takes an active interest in the education of his three daughters as well as their sport and theatrical interests. He has spent two years as P&C president at Lyneham High School and his 14 years of involvement with the Ainslie Fete have included set up, packing up, auctioning totem poles and selling fairy floss! He has also been operating a free Uber style service for his three daughters, a job that looks like continuing for at least a few more years.
Richard enjoys taking to the stage and as well as several years on the Phoenix Players Committee his experience includes performing in the Canberra premier of Phantom of the Opera in 2013. He is also an enthusiastic cyclist both on and off road, and likes to write science fiction stories.
As a manager in the Australian public service Richard has over two decades of experience in public policy development and program delivery. In particular, he has a strong track record of working collaboratively with senior industry representatives.
Richard now wants to use his life and work experience and his energy and enthusiasm to work for the people of Kurrajong.
