A re-elected ACT Labor Government will deliver additional services, renewed local infrastructure and more jobs as part of our plan for Belconnen.
Labor will deliver better public healthcare in Belconnen, through a new walk-in health centre in West Belconnen, expanded services at the existing walk-in centre in the Belconnen Town Centre and a new Northside elective surgery centre at the University of Canberra hospital precinct.
Labor will also invest more at Calvary public hospital – developing a new Centre for Excellence in Caring for Older Canberrans.
At this election, only Labor is planning on building new, emissions free public schools to cater for families moving to Belconnen. We will also invest more in schools right across the region, providing jobs for local companies.
As part of our plan for Belconnen, a re-elected ACT Labor team will fund the construction of a new half-pipe at the Belconnen skate park, as well as upgrades to the Lake Ginninderra Swimming area.
Residents in the Belconnen Town Centre will also be the first to benefit from ACT Labor’s food recycling scheme through a trial of the service.
Labor’s Plan for Belconnen also includes:
Canberrans in Belconnen will also have access to ACT Labor’s sustainable and resilient households scheme and one day a week of free early learning for three years olds.
The pandemic isn’t over, and there is more work to do. But ACT Labor has the right plan to invest in Canberrans and lead our city through the pandemic.
