THE ROLE

ACT Labor is seeking a Senior Organiser to work closely with the ACT Labor Secretary to develop and implement campaign strategy and activities. The role spans data and research, digital strategy, field campaigning, training, and membership engagement. The Senior Organiser will also play a key role in supporting office staff and working with the Membership team.

We are looking for someone who shares the values of the Australian Labor Party and is committed to securing the re-election of progressive local and federal governments in 2028.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing campaign strategies with the ACT Labor Secretary
  • Coordinating the research program with the Secretary and external providers
  • Serving as the primary party office contact for ACT Legislative Assembly and federal Labor offices
  • Coordinating field campaigns
  • Managing ACT Labor's digital infrastructure, including our CRM, website, and social media platforms
  • Developing and delivering campaign training, onboarding, and upskilling for volunteers and members
  • Working with the Secretary to implement recommendations from the 2025 Campaign Review
  • Maintaining strong relationships with Labor MPs, their offices, affiliates, and the ALP National Secretariat

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We need a strategic thinker who can turn ideas into action. Someone who manages competing priorities with confidence, works well with others, and adapts readily to changing circumstances.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience working on, or managing, an election campaign
  • Ability to work with complex IT systems, including Labor's campaign CRM
  • Strong skills across digital campaign tools such as P2P texting, email, digital advertising, and website CMS
  • Design skills using tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Copywriting and campaign narrative development
  • Data analysis and strategic reporting
  • An innovative approach to campaigning
  • Ability to manage and negotiate competing interests
  • Sound judgement and discretion in a politically sensitive environment

We recognise that no candidate will have every skill listed, we welcome applicants who can demonstrate strength across a number of these areas and a willingness to upskill and learn.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS

ACT Labor offers a salary commensurate with experience ranging from $102,185 to $130,693+ super (12.5%).
